Final meeting - Selection of secondary school

Hi,

Just want to confirm that I'll be making myself available tomorrow, i.e. Sunday, 29 November for those of us who wish to discuss with me about the choice of secondary school.

You can find me @ Potong Pasir Macdonalds from 8am to 11am (not pm so take note).

Do come with your preferred list of schools, ranked of course.

I've also learnt that there are rumours saying that I'll be giving people treat on that day ... so I just to 'squash' this incredible gossip by stating I SHOULD be the one getting treats ...

So those who think can pull a fast one on me ... riiiiight ...

My thoughts about your result ...

Hey ...

To begin, I didn't expect the whole thing to end so soon. I saw many expressions today ... some joy, some disappointment and the rest, more relief.

How are all of you feeing?

Counting down ... PSLE results!

In less than 12 hours' time, you'll be getting your results.

I'm sure all of you must be nervous and so am I.

I've been praying for the best and will continue to do so, though I'm aware your results have already been computed some time ago.

I'll be my last time addressing and meeting all of you (or at least, most of you) as your form teacher so it'll be a mixture of anxiety as well as reluctance.

Anyway ... let's hope for the best and remember:

  • If you done well, keep it up!
  • If you didn't do as well as you've hoped, it's not the end ... this result doesn't seal your fate; you still have a long way ahead of you and it's still up to you, to change it!

Cheers!

Hey.

Just remember to show up in school uniform but if you'd like to don the class t-shirt, it's fine too ...

Let's hope for the best!

Cedar Celebrates Carnival!

Hey ...

We'll be heading out later to have our annual EOY dinner so I guess I have time to squeeze in a post.

Great job P6-3 and I want to congratulate the following groups:
  1. The hip-hoppers! Fantastic job! You kids are getting better with every performance. I even have parents ask me whether we have this as a CCA cos their kids love it! Well done!

  2. The 'nobody nobody' group. I know only Kym is from our class. Help to congratulate the rest of the girls (not forgetting the 2 boys too!). It was a lively performance!

  3. Not forgetting the balloon sculptors ... I learnt that all of you were so busy that you hardly have time to eat! I know for a fact that before this event, none of you actually knows how to do it but now, I'm sure you will be able to show off your skills!

  4. Last but not the least, the boys who manned the game stalls ... for me I feel bad that I didn't get the chance to really visit your station ... I know it's a roaring success cos I heard that you ran out of candies really early!

I hope I didn't miss out anyone ...

Anyway, I hope all of you had fun and enjoyed the food (you all got more than what you're supposed to get) and more importantly the company!

I'll be working for the next few days on what I should include in the CD which I'll be giving you on 26 November ...

Ah yes, the class t-shirt! Did you observe that we're the only class wearing that today and it was so easy for me to locate you guys when I need to hand you the food!

Though the design and printing are not perfect, I hope it'll become an artefact which will invoke fond memories whenever you see or wear them ...

Till we meet again!

Winding down P6-3 ...

Hi.

I just want to share that during the Cedar Learning Carnival, as I was showing the 2 videos to the visiting P5 and P6 pupils, I got me thinking ...

2009 ... it just zipped pass ... literally! I can still remember roughly what I said to the class on the first day of this year ... reassuring all of you and things like that.

Also, it wasn't too long ago when I was still putting everyone through all the revision worksheets, exam papers, reminding as well as scolding some that we really need to persevere and buck up. I could still remember hearing all the groaning whenever I talk about Math and the laughters when we coin ESAD ...

Feeling emotional? Maybe ...

Feel like crying? Maybe not ... but just to share that even though I've taught and sent off 7 graduating classes (including all of you), there's always that sense of loss ... it's like a piece of you been cut off ... it'll be painful for a while but eventually we'll get over it ...

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I enjoyed having you guys as companions journey through 2009. Though I may not know each one of you as well as the other form teachers, I wished I had more time talking to you guys (rather listening to me most/all the time) and getting to know each one of you as a person cos you kids are interesting, yes each one of you.

I guess it's time to grow up (including myself) and learn to embrace the 'coming unknown'. For you it's your PSLE results and the secondary school which you'll be heading and as for me, new kids and this time, I got 2 classes-worth of English and no more Maths (Noooooooooo) and Science, plus not forgetting 80 new faces ...

They're coming soon, really soon ...

Are we ready?

Work in progress ... Class T-shirt!

Hi people,

As of now I can confirm the T-shirt will be ready in about 2 weeks' time; it'll be ready before the last day of school ...

I'll be paying a visit to the T-Shirt maker tomorrow to confirm the T-shirt sizes and hopefully after that I'll be able to give more details. As of now, each T-shirt costs slightly more than $14 but I'll let know how much you'll need to pay in due time ...

Don't forget about the excursion to Bartley Secondary tomorrow and take the necessary items with you, i.e. calculator and some writing materials.

See ya!
